Congressional Affairs

Overview

The Congressional Affairs Group (CAG) serves as the primary liaison for Members of Congress and their personal staff with CMS and the programs the agency administers.  In addition to responding to congressional inquiries and constituent concerns related to Medicare, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program, CAG organizes meetings, briefings and outreach events for Members and their staff.  In addition, CAG notifies Congress about specific CMS activities of interest to Members.
